Police arrests HM militant involved in weapon looting incident at MLA Wachi’s Srinagar residence

Pulwama: A Hizbul Mujahideen affiliated militant has been arrested by government forces at Lassipora-Achan Axis in District Pulwama.

According to police spokesman forces had received a specific inputs and the militant was arrested a  a Naka Checkpoint.

He has been identified as Rafeeq Ahmed Bhat alias Salahuddin Bhai  S/O Mohd Ashraf R/O Achan Pulwama.

Police claimed to have recovered one AK 47 rifle, two magazines, 40 live rounds and other incriminating materials.

“He had recently joined HM in September 2018,” Police said.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Litter, Pulwama and investigation has been initiated.

“Preliminary investigation has revealed that he was involved in looting of weapons from the residence of MLA Wachi in Srinagar,” Police said.
