Kathua Police arrests accused of hit and run case

Kathua: Kathua Police acting swiftly in a hit and run case apprehended the accused driver within hour of incident.

Incident took place on National Highway near Hatli Morh when accused driver namely Vinod Kumar S/o darshan Kumar R/o Thathi udhampur who was driving rash and negligently his vehicle bearing registration no JK14D-6544 hit a pedestrian causing serious injuries to him and fled away from the spot.

Police team of Police Post Hatli led by SI Maninder Singh Incharge Police Post Hatli acted swiftly on the incident and apprehended the accused with in hour of the incident.

The accident deceased who was identified as Jagdish Raj S/o Sansar Chand R/o Govindsar near Raliway station kathua was immediately shifted to District Hospital Kathua from the spot where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police registered a case FIR no 388/2018 U/s 279/304A RPC against the accused driver and seized the vehicle.
