SRINAGAR: Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Health, Medical Education and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash, today convened a meeting to review the functioning of Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board and the progress of various developmental works being carried out by them.
The meeting also discussed in detail the progress under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Housing for All – scheme under which affordable houses will be provided to the urban poor which would be constructed through a technology that is eco-friendly as well. Setting up of housing colonies in Kashmir and Jammu Divisions was also discussed threadbare. Managing Director Housing Board gave a detailed briefing to the Minister about achievements made under the scheme, so far.
The Minister while directing the officers to implement various components of the scheme in letter and spirit stressed them to conduct monthly meetings regarding the progress of implementation of the Housing for All Scheme.
She also called for expediting work on all the developmental projects under the Board at an earliest and also reviewed the progress of deposit works being executed by the Housing Board on behalf of the other Government Departments.
Managing Director Housing Board, DGMs JK Housing Board, Collector JK Housing Board, Secretary JK Housing Board and other officers attended the meeting.
