kupwara::Residents of Daril tarthpora on Wednesday held a protest demonstration against PHE and district adminstration over failing to provide drinking water facilities to the village for last five months.
The residents of Daril Tarhathpora in northern Kashmir’s kupwara district alleged that, district adminstration and concerned Public Health Engineering (PHE) has time and time again failed to provide drinking water facilities to the area for last over five months.
Protesters dozens in numbers assembled in the area and raised anti adminstration and PHE slogans.
Protesters including men, women and several elderly persons said that, Authorities so far failed to facilitate the area with proper drinking water.
They said that, Despite assurance from authorities they have failed to lay down water pipe lines in Daril area for over five months now.
Protesters said that, In recent months we have hit the roads several times but authroitues are turing deaf ears to our sufferings,Due to negligance of adminstdation we are forced to consume contaminated water.
“Women folk are forced to bring water from different places at native village in tarthpora, which is tough amid heavy traffic rush in the area”, a local protester said.
In recent months we have raised the issue with DDC Kupwara and PHE authorities but they have neglected us so far.
We are forced to use contaminated water in all household works including drinking, many of times we have felt prey to the water, protesters said.
