Drug peddler arrested in Pattan: Police

Srinagar: Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler, who leads prayers in a local mosque, and recovered contraband substance from his possession in Pattan area of north Kahsmir.
Police identified him as Mushtaq Ahmed Mia alias DC son of Late Ghulam Hassan Mia resident of Pattan with consignment of fukki. During investigation, it was revealed that the accused was main culprit for supplying fukki along Highway to the local youth, a police spokesman said.
In this regard, a case FIR (168/2018) under section 8/22 NDPS was registered against him and investigation has been taken up.
The locals of the area have highly appreciated this action of Police against drug peddlers and have assured full support in eradicating the drug menace, the spokesman added.
