Person killed at Farooq Abdullah’s Bhatindi residence identified, is from Mendhar Poonch

Jammu: The person shot dead at the former chief minister J&K Farooq Abdullah’s Bhatindi residence on Saturday has been identified and is from Mendhar Poonch.

Officials said that the dead has been identified as Murfad Hussain Shah, son of Imzad Hussain Shah resident Ghaluta, Mendhar Poonch.

Police said that Around 1026 hours One car bearing No JK02BW – 0568 (SUV- 500) which entered forcibly into the building belong to Dr Farooq Abdullah (Ex-CM) in Bhatindi area from upper gate.

“Sentry (CRPF, E/38 Bn) deployed there warned and shot at him,” they said.

Omar Abdullah, former CM and son of Farooq  Abdullah in a tweet  said: Im aware of the incident that took place at the residence my father & I share in Bhatindi, Jammu. Details are sketchy at the moment. Initial reports suggest an intruder was able to gain entry through the front door & in to the upper lobby of the house. Further details are awaited as the security personnel carry out the anti-sabotage checks & ascertain the background of the person who was able to force his way in to the house.

The dead person was in a Black colour Mahindra XUV 500 Car No JK 02 BW 0568.
