Different areas in district Anantnag are observing a shutdown today on the first death anniversary of a local militant, Yawar Nisar.

All the business establishments shops, Educational Institutes, are closed in the area.

Yawar was killed on 04 August last year in an encounter with Government Forces.

Yawar 21, had been a militant for less than 20 days before he was trapped in a gun battle that raged in Kanelwan area of the district.

The call for shutdown was issued by the Mirwaiz of South Kashmir, Qazi Ahmed Yasir, who was taken into detention immediately after issuing a shutdown call.
