Official sources said the traffic was suspended due to landslides, triggered by rains from past few days, at Hayan Kangan area in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Hundreds of vehicles were stranded on both sides on the highway before the road was cleard, they said.

When contacted SHO Kangan Kursheed Awan said the landslide occurred on Friday morning and blocked the highway. Later police with the help of BRO cleared the thoroughfare, he added.
