After Pandit community’s appeal JRL says Shutdown on Thursday now

Srinagar: Members of pandit community rang up the Joint Resistance Leadership to postpone the shutdown call for wednesday as the date coincides with Mela Kheer Bhawani. JRL has now called for shutdown on thursday.

Sources inside Hurriyat conference confided that soon the call for shutdown was made public JRL leadership was approached by the Pandit community to postpone the shutdown.

The JRL decided to call for a shutdown on Thursday against the ‘continued civilian killings in the valley which has witnessed a sudden spike since the eve of Eid as three young boys have been brutally gunned down by the Indian forces while the forth is struggling for life at SKIMS.’
“CASO has returned with a vengeance to the villages as people are being severely beaten and harassed and used as human shields. The strike will also be observed against the brutal killing of veteran journalist Shujaat Bukhari,JRL demands an international probe into this gruesome murder,” spokesman said.
