Jammu:  Three women were killed and five children were injured when a landslide hit Shasho Padder area in Kishtwar district on Saturday afternoon.

A police officer said three women were confirmed dead and he identified them as Zeenam (46) wife of Farooq Ahmed, Maryam (27) wife of Noor Ahmed  and Zareena (22) wife of Noorani.

The injured include Yaseen (5) son of Irshad , Mushtaq (5), Noor Jahan (6) daughter of Fareed , Maheera Jan (4) daughter of Noor Ahmed and Rafeeq (6) son o Irshad Ahmed. The officer said that incident took place when male members had gone to offer (Zuhr) prayers. The victims, all nomads from Pathernaki, put up in summers in Shasho Padder and other areas, the officer added.
