Break locks put on schools by donors, CEO Kupwara tell ZEO’s

Kupwara: Hundreds of students of district Kupwara took classes on Tuesday under open sky as schools are under lock down by land donors cum owners.

Donors are claiming that they were promised to be given a job with a handsome salary but the promised was never implemented despite reminders to authorities.

At Nutnusa, since school building has been closed students were to study in open among woods.

“Govt should have  settled down issues with owners so that our kids won’t have to face tough time,” aggrieved parents said.

In lolab  as well school buildings are under lock down.

A teacher in school department said that at different places were woods are near, insecurity has crept in parent.

“Man animal conflict keeps happening, today monkeys disturbed them as they were studying in open. God save them before any major incident happens,” he said.

“If any untoward thing happens during these days, education department will be responsible for that”, CEO kupwara Mohammad shafi war told INS.

Various donors to which INS talked said that they have locked schools so that government is reminded of promises it has not stood up for.

“Unless our demands are accepted, not a single school will open across district kupwara,” donors threatened.

CEO kupwara, however said that he has directed all the concerned ZEOs to look into the matter, and break all the all the locks on schools.

“If donors won’t allow us to resume the class work in school buildings, all of them will be disengaged,” CEO said.

He added that if needed education department will file a case against erring owners and donors against ‘such highhandedness’.

“They have already been made employees in the department,” War said.
