Srinagar: Jammu Kashmir Police has lambasted rightwing affiliated activist Madhu Purnima Kishwar for spreading lies on her Twitter handle.

Madhu Kishwar had tweeted: “Shocked to learn from @neelakantha that @spvaid –the DG of J&K actually suspended the SP who killed Burhan wani in an encounter–all because  @MehboobaMufti was upset at killing of Burhan. A DG playing doormat to jehadi politicians– Is this what IPS training is all about? (sic).”

Responding to the concocted tweet, the Jammu Kashmir Police said: “More than shocked to read concoted information being shared by a senior journalist like you @madhukishwar .No SP has been suspended.Kindly check before sharing such information (sic).”

Hizb Commander Burhan Wani was killed on late Friday evening of July 8, 2016 in Bemdoora village of Kokernag in district Anantnag of southern Kashmir.

The killing of Commander Burhan Wani led to mass-unrest for more than five months in Kashmir valley leading to death of over 90 people while thousands sustained pellet injuries, mostly lost their eye visiondue to the pellet fury in Kashmir.

The government forces also arrested thousands of people and lodged them in different jails across the state, while hundreds were booked under the draconian law of Public Safety Act (PSA).
