Local Member of Legislative Assembly, however, claims that they will have ‘all of them’ but they will have to wait till the ‘end of 2018’.

As the rains lashed many parts of the valley recently, Shojan residents had to fear for the slippery condition of the pathway they take down the hill.

Not only for rains, a hot day too is a difficult one, to quote the villagers, dust hovers all around.

“Decade back the electricity department came with electricity poles, they are yet to be erected and power line installed,” villagers decry.

Road to the village is a trek, and having portable water a ‘luxury’ if they ‘could have it’.

“We only exist to make a queue outside a polling booth. Once the vote is casted, there is none called shojan village,” villagers complain, that the politicians would make a beaten path to the hill top and ask for votes and promise better ‘life conditions as soon as they come to power’.

“You cannot escape the temptation that your village will someday have a better road, portable water, and electricity. So that our children will have a better life, better conditions to live in,” the aggrieved villagers claim.

They add that even though they know, ‘of experience’ that politicians take them as ‘only voters’ but ‘of compulsion they have to cast vote’ believing ‘someone will deliver the promised assurances’.

“Road to village was to be constructed under PMGSY scheme but God knows why are their delays,” they claim.

“No body cares, no body listens to our woes,”Ab Rehman Gojjar, a resident said.

“Due to some circumstances the work on road was delayed. Facilities like electricity will be provided to the area under ‘Deen Dayal Scheme’ during the end of this year as proposal is already made for it,” MLA Tral, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, told INS.
