Police counsels ‘instigated, misguided’ youth in Anantnag

Srinagar: Police Saturday conducted a counselling session for youths of Achabal and Badooda area who ‘were instigated and misguided by some unscrupulous elements of society to pelt stones’ on the government forces in the area.

Police spokesman said that the session was attended by the youth along with their parents at Police Station Achabal.

“The Anantnag Police took a sympathetic/kind and humane consideration of the matter and conducted a thorough counselling of the young boys during which they were made aware of their capabilities and potentialities and also the ways to channelize their talent so that they can become productive for their parents as well as for the society. The young boys as well as their parents were assured full support of the Anantnag police in facilitating their studies, tuition, sports activities  as well as monetary assistance to the needy,” Police said.

The police spokesman said that after counselling the young boys and their parents ‘felt confident and relaxed’.

“The parents and general public of the Achabal/Badooda area thanked the Anantnag Police for orgainsing the counseling session. However the instigators of these young boys have also been identified against whom  a strict action will be taken,” reads the statement issued by the police spokesman here.

According to police the counselling session was organised on the directions of the SSP Anantnag Altaf Ahmad Khan and was chaired by SDPO Achabal Tanveer Ahmad accompanied by SHO Police Station Achabal  Javeed Ahmad
