Student protests erupt in KU, Baramulla, Handwara, Bandipora

Srinagar: Student protests have erupted in various education institutions including Kashmir University, Government degree college Bandipora, Handwara and Baramulla against civilian deaths in an ongoing anti militancy operation in Kulgam district of South Kashmir.

Hundreds of students marched inside Kashmir University campus raising anti India, Pro freedom slogans.

In Government Degree College Bandipora students protested inside Premises of college. Sudents, including girls, raised Pro freedom and Anti Indian slogans  and marched towards Gulshan Chowk Bandipora

Students also protested in Handwara and Baramulla as well.

Three civilians were killed and around 30 sustained injuries after clashes erupted between protesters and government forces near the gunfight site at Khudwani area of Kulgam district.
Witnesses said that forces resorted to firing, pellet firing and tear gas shelling against the stone pelting protesters who were trying to disrupt the force’s operation against the holed up militants.

One Army man also has been killed in the anti militancy operation.
