Forest department Ganderbal seizes illegal timber during night, driver escapes

Ganderbal: Forest department Ganderbal seized  23 cfts of illegal timber last night, police said.

Police said that on the specific information forest officials along with DFO Ganderbal Shabir Ahmad Sheikh, Ranger Mansbal range of Sindh forest Division ganderbal stopped an Ecco van under registration number JK04B 9859 at Anderwan area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

“While forest officials began to proceed towards the vehicle the driver along with another person ran away from the spot. 23 cfts of timber along with vehicle were seized,” said DFO Ganderbal Shabir Ahmad Sheikh.

He also said that the FIR has been registered in police station Lar.
