A spokesman of the amalgam said that as the Mirwaiz came out of his residence, a police party detained him and lodged him at Nigeen police station.
Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had called for ‘Shopian chalo’ on Wednesday to express solidarity with the families o those youth killed during past week. Four civilians were among six persons killed on Sunday by army who claimed that the youth were accompanying two militants who were killed in a brief gunfight. However, the locals said that the youth were killed in cold blood and civilian vehicles were targeted ten minutes after the militants were killed.
