The residents of the villages had few day back blocked Rajwar-Handwara road demanding construction  of a permanent bridge for the area, which according to locals is ‘under construction since last two years.’

“Doodipora, Doodipora Check and Bakihakher villages have been cut off after the flash floods in the morning washed away wooden bridge,” locals said.

Residents allege that Roads and buildings department for unknown reasons stopped construction work of the bridge leaving no option for the people to use the wooden bridge.

“It’s unfortunate that government is not listening to woes of common people,” they said.
