LoC flare up: Army claims on providing all relief to displaced locals puts question mark on admin role

Srinagar: Army on Sunday claimed that it was providing all relief and succour including food to people displaced by firing along the Line of Control in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The claims have questioned role of civil administration which has claiming that affected people were provided all the relief.
Addressing reporters, Commander 12 Infantry Brigade Uri Brigadierr Y.S Ahlawat said it was giving befitting and adequately replying with heavy firing on Pakistan army posts which were “involved ceasefire violation.”
“Indian army gave strong, determined and definite response on LoC and ensured that Pakistan army has yet been punished,” he said.
Soon after the firing and shelling, villagers have evacuated to local government higher secondary school.
“As the first responder on ground, army has swung into action and immediately provided much required succour and relief to the displaced villagers. Since the commencement of the hospitalities, the army has extended medical facilities to the injured villagers. So far army has provided food, medicine and drinking water,” he said, adding, “The villagers requested for more clothing and we have provided sleeping bags.”
