Dubai Ports’ chairman wants to set up Dry Port in J&K, meets CM

Jammu: The Chairman & CEO of Dubai Ports’, Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem called on the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti here on Friday.
Sulayem, alongwith with his team of executives, is in the State to explore possibilities of investment in the State.
During the meeting, Sulayem briefed the Chief Minister about his idea of setting up a Dry Port in the State which would help the produce from the State link with a huge market chain in the world through an integrated transportation chain. He said he would be happy to see that the people of the State become beneficiaries of his company’s infrastructure.
Appreciating the idea, the Chief Minister hoped that with the setting up of such a facility in the State, the horticultural produce and handicrafts would get a big boost in terms of marketability and timely carriage to potential buyers.
Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh; Minister for Industries & Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga; Minister for Finance, Dr. Haseeb Drabu and Minister for IT, Youth Services & Sports, Moulvi Imran Raza Ansari and members of the visiting business delegation were present on the occasion.
