Jammu: The J&K Assembly was adjourned for ten minutes on Monday following the strong protest by the members of the ruling BJP and opposition National Conference against the continuous shelling by Pakistani forces in Rajouri.
NC legislators including Ali Muhammad Sagar and Devendra Rana sought the Speaker’s attention and demanded the chief minister Mehbooba Mufti’s statement over the shelling that resulted in killing of four army men and injuries to several others in border district Rajouri.
BJP MLA Ravinder Raina supported by other legislators stood up from his chair and condemned the shelling. BJP legislators while shouting the anti-Pakistan slogans asked the forces to give Pakistan a befitting answer.
Amid uproar, the Speaker Kavinder Gupta adjourned the house for ten minutes.
