Tral: Complete shutdown is being observed in Anantnag and Kulgam areas of south Kashmir on Wednesday to mourn the killing of a militant and a civilian by government forces on Tuesday.
Farheen Ahmad Wani, a Hizbul Mujahideen militant, was killed in a gunfight with government forces in Larnoo area of Kokernag in Anantnag district, on Tuesday morning.
A youth, Khalid Ahmad Dar, was also killed in Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam when forces fired upon the protesters during clashes which erupted following the killing of Hizb militant.
On Wednesday, all shops and business establishments remained closed in both the districts while as traffic was off the roads.
Meanwhile, people continue to visit the residences of slain militant and civilian to express condolence and sympathy with the bereaved families.
