Srinagar: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday strongly condemned indiscriminate use of pellets against civilians and blinding youth in Shopian.
“Blinding and maiming is inhuman, most condemnable and barbarous,” Geelani said in a statement issued here.
Commenting over “never-ending situations of uncertainty”, Geelani said that use of lethal weapons was worst, most “beastly, brutal and unbearable.”
He condemned pellet firing over civilians and said that Pervaiz Ahmad Dar, Imran Muneer, Feroz Ahmad and dozens of others were the victims of a deadly weapon used nowhere else in the world. “The fact remains unchanged, Kashmir is the only place in the world where these weapons are used against human beings,” he said.
Geelani said that people everywhere in the world come on roads to express their anger and dissatisfaction and register their protest but the law enforcing agencies nowhere use the lethal and deadly weapons against its own people.
Geelani said that tall claims of “ministerial heads to be seriously concerned about the future of our youth, is nullified by the ruthless killings and blinding of young generation, saying how can these puppets justify the use of deadly weapons against peaceful protestors.”
The octogenarian said that “sacrifices presented by our nation” won’t go waste and “I am sure and confident that we will achieve our cherished goal.”
