Dr Nisar appointed Registrar NIT Srinagar

NEW DELHI, NOVEMBER 30: Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir, Joint Secretary, University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi has been appointed Registrar, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar.

Dr Nisar besides looking after various bureaus in UGC, was country head for the prestigious National Academic Depository (NAD) project, under which a digital locker is being created for students in all the institutions of higher education to digitally stock their academic awards for verification and authentication. Under this project the students from across the country can download their certificates online anytime and also apply for online verification from any part of the world.

A resident of Dadsara, Tral, Dr Nisar previously worked as Deputy Registrar Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) Rajouri, and also as Joint Registrar Kashmir University.

In addition to his huge administrative experience, Dr Nisar has Doctorate in Sociology and has edited four books. He has published 30 research papers and has worked on 9 research projects funded by different Ministries.
