Srinagar: Police station Kunzer received a complaint from Javed Ahmed Shah of Batpora Kunzer to the effect that his niece (name withheld) age around 15 was kidnapped by Arjun Singh of Punjab on Nov 18.

On receiving the complaint, a case FIR 97/17, u/s 363 was registered in the police station Kunzer and investigation set into motion.

During the course of investigation it came to fore that the accused namely Arjun Singh, S/o Nirmal Singh, R/o khizarpore Mukeriyan Punjab with the help of Tasleema Begum, W/o Riyaz Ahmed Mir kidnapped the girl from Batpora Kunzer.

On this under the supervision of Prob DySP Waqar Yunis who is officiating as SHO Kunzer, a police party led by ASI Abdul Rashid was deputed to Punjab. After the strenuous and joint efforts with Punjab police, the police party of Kunzer police station arrested the accused and recovered the girl from his possession

The kidnapped girl was handed over to her parents after conducting the medical examination and other legal formalities. It is pertinent to mention here that the abettor Tasleema Begum who happens to be the maternal aunt of kidnaped girl was booked under section 109 RPC for the abetment to offences under section 363/376 RPC.
