Handwara: Jammu and Kashmir police have solved a “blind” murder case in “just two hours” on Sunday, sources said.

Reports said that a girl, name withheld, was murdered in Handwara town in Kupwara district in northern Kashmir on Sunday.

SHO Kupwara, Mohammad Ashraf told INS that the body of 18 year old girl was found early morning on Sunday at her native Gushi village.

He added that police “in a swift action” arrested the accused who they said kidnapped the girl to force her into marriage.

Police solved the murder mystery of the teenage girl within two hours. The accused Mohammad Altaf Malik son of Dilawar Malik has been arrested.  Postmortem will be done on the deceased to ascertain the facts into the case, SHO added further.

He said that a case, FIR no. 306/2017 under section 302 (murder) and 366 (Kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel her marriage) has been registered in the police station.
