Srinagar sees cold day, Gulmarg coldest amid snow forecast

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital recorded normal temperature below 5 degrees Celsius even as weatherman forecast light rain or snow at scattered places over the state in next 24-hours.
A meteorological department official told INS that Srinagar recorded 11 degrees Celsius, 5 degrees Celsius than the normal for his time of the year.
Pahalgam, one of the world famous hill resorts in south Kashmir, recorded maximum of 11.8 degree Celsius, less than 3 degrees Celsius than the normal.
Qazigund, the gate town of Kashmir, recorded 16.2 degrees Celsius (less by one degree Celsius), Kokernag had 15.4 degrees Celsius while Kupwara witnessed day temperature of 12.9 degree Celsius, four degrees Celsius below the normal.
In Gulmarg, the world famous ski resort in northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district, day temperature was lowest than all places, recording at 6.4 degrees Celsius.  It also recorded night temperature of zero degrees Celsius, lowest in Valley.
Regarding, forecast for next 24 hours, the weatherman said that light rain or snow may occur at scattered places  over the state.
For subsequent two days, the weatherman predicted scattered to fairly wide spread rain or snow.
