Apple, Art, Autumn festival begins, to celebrate artists

Srinagar: To promote local artists a two days Art, Apple and Autumn Festival begin today at Indoor stadium, Srinagar.

More than 60 schools are competing in the festival today and displayed their creative work.

Students of Hattrick Public, New Bonvivant School, Delhi Public School Srinagar, G.D. Goenka School, Mars Public School, Vishwa bharati and Government School Soura.

Around 60 Schools participated in this festival and children displayed their art work in various categories like Paper art, Leaf Art, Live Paper Machie work, Namda Work, Handicrafts, Science models, Craft work, Photographs, Sketches and many more.

Among the different school Students of GD goinka perform on Nani pari.Speaking with the occasion Prof Khurshid Andrabi said, “It is so nice to see our youngsters displaying their talent in such a creative way. We have the best of the skull and we need to channelize it properly and make it a good business skill for our youngsters.”

This festival has been organised to provide a creative space for students, kids and professional artists who can jointly express themselves in various forms.

Space Communications, J&K based event Management Company today organized this festival.

Dr. Amit Wanchoo, CEO Space Communications while interacting with media person said, “I had planned this festival in 2014 but we could not do it due to floods and turmoil. This year we never expected to get such a huge support for this event. We hope that organising this festival in November will help in making winter more vibrant, positive and creative season for our youth.”

The function was inaugurated by Prof Khursheed Andrabi, Vice Chancellor Kashmir University along with Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood Shah, Sharat geelani palavi, Sajjad Bazaz, PRO JK Bank Ajaz Bhat, Nazir Wani, Director New Bonvivant School,   Music Maestro Krishan Langoo, Bollywood Singer Saiam Bhat, Director Airport Sharad.

During the Festival a special award of honour was given to Ms. Atiqa Bano, Founder Miraas Mahal, which displayed the heritage art work of Jammu and Kashmir. Atiqa ji was remembered by kids and whole stadium gave a standing aviation to the noble soul for her contribution in preserving heritage, art and culture of Kashmir. The festival has gathered tremendous response and has been widely supported by Greater Kashmir, J&K Bank, National Health Mission and many other organisations.

Arists who displayed their work included Yasmin Hussain, Irum Malik, ITI Bab Demb students, Mohsin, Adil, Nusrat, Hina, Sulaiman, Shazia Bashir, Abid Ali, Abdul Rashid, Shagufta and Yamberzal group.
