DC Srinagar for ‘sustained’ maintenance of Hari Parbat Fort

Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah on Wednesday directed concerned officials to make sustained efforts to restore pristine glory Hari Parbat Fort.
Dr. Shah toured Khanyar Tehsil and inspected various locations, including the Badwamwari and the HAri Parbat fort.
Several delegations met the Deputy Commissioner and projected their demands. The officer noted their concerns and assured to look into the issues.
During his extensive tour around the Hari Parbat fort area , the Deputy Commissioner expressed displeasure over maintenance of its surroundings. He called for taking up maintenance and restoration works at the historic fort to retain its attraction and prevent damages to it.
He also said the Forest Department will be instructed to launch a massive plantation drive around the fort area for its beautification.
Earlier he visited Pantha Chowk and Khanyar Tehsil Offices to take stock of facilities being made available to the public of these areas.
During the DC’s visit, concerned Revenue officials at the Tehsils were issued strict instructions for ensuring prompt public service delivery and public grievances redress. Instructions for setting up a waiting area for the general public and ensuring maintenance of sanitation at the Offices were also issued on the occasion.
The DC also instructed the concerned Revenue officer to identify land for construction of a new Tehsil office at Pantha Chowk.
