Govt orders reshuffle in Information Deptt; 17 officers transferred

Srinagar, July 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday ordered a major reshuffle in the Information Department, transferring and posting 17 officers in the interest of administration with immediate effect.

According to Government Order No. 28-JK(ID) of 2026 dated July 17, 2026, issued by the Information Department, Civil Secretariat, and signed by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, Alice Vaz, IAS, several District Information Officers (DIOs), Editors, Information Officers and other officers have been transferred and posted across the Union Territory.

As per the order, Showkat Hussain Ganie, JKAS (Jr. Scale), District Information Officer, Shopian, has been transferred and posted as District Information Officer, Kulgam, against a vacant post of Information Officer.

Erim Aziz, JKAS (Jr. Scale), District Information Officer, Budgam, has been posted as Information Officer in the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), J&K, against a vacant post.

Rajinder Kumar Dingra, JKAS (Jr. Scale), District Information Officer, Kathua, has been posted as Cultural Officer, Jammu, while Abhimanyu Singh, JKAS (Jr. Scale), District Information Officer, Doda, holding additional charge of DIO Kishtwar, has been placed at the disposal of the Director, Public Relations (J&K), New Delhi, till further orders.

The government has also posted Adil Manzoor Wani, JKAS (Jr. Scale), District Information Officer, Kupwara, as District Information Officer, Bandipora.

Among other transfers, Rajinder Paul Singh has been posted as Editor in DIPR, while Gulshan Sumbria will continue on deputation in the office of Deputy Director, Information (J&K), New Delhi, as Editor.

Majeeb Ahmad Ganai and Gulshan Ara have also been posted as Editors in DIPR, with Gulshan Ara additionally directed to look after the post of Assistant Director, Information (Advertisement) in the office of the Joint Director Information, Kashmir.

Further, Shabir Ahmad Bhat has been posted as Field Publicity Officer, Kashmir, Gurpreet Singh as District Information Officer, Kathua, Liyaqat Ali Mir as District Information Officer, Budgam, Mohammad Owais Gurkoo as District Information Officer, Bandipora, and Natyapal Singh as District Information Officer, Ramban.

The order further states that Parvaiz Ahmad Lone has been posted as Information Officer (Youth), Kashmir, Sajad Ahmad Shah as District Information Officer, Shopian, and Hardeep Singh Choudhary as District Information Officer, Poonch, who will also hold the additional charge of District Information Officer, Rajouri, until further orders.

The government has directed that all the officers shall be deemed relieved from their present places of posting with immediate effect.
