Addressing the media on the occasion, Sajjad Shaheen said that the landmark sign board symbolizes the identity, pride, and aspirations of the people of Banihal. He remarked that the project has been conceived to provide Banihal with a distinctive visual identity while promoting the town as an attractive destination for tourists and visitors.

The MLA stated that the inauguration marks the beginning of a comprehensive beautification programme for all major towns of the Banihal Assembly Constituency, which will be implemented in a phased manner. He said that several initiatives aimed at improving the aesthetic appeal, public spaces, and overall urban environment of towns across the constituency are under active consideration and will be taken up progressively.

Sajjad Shaheen further announced that a major beautification project for Banihal town is already in the pipeline, and work on the same will commence shortly. The proposed initiative will focus on improving the town’s appearance through landscape development, enhancement of public spaces, installation of modern civic amenities, and creation of attractive urban infrastructure befitting Banihal’s status as the gateway to Kashmir.

He emphasized that development is not limited to roads and buildings alone but also includes creating aesthetically pleasing and people-friendly spaces that instill a sense of pride among residents and leave a lasting impression on visitors.

The MLA reiterated his commitment to pursuing innovative and visionary developmental initiatives that not only strengthen infrastructure but also promote tourism, economic activity, and the overall image of the constituency.

Thanking Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his continued support and for providing fresh impetus to developmental initiatives in the Banihal-Gool constituency, Shaheen said that the Chief Minister’s vision and commitment towards inclusive development have helped accelerate several important projects in the region, and expressed confidence that this support will further strengthen efforts to transform Banihal into a model constituency.
