The meeting was attended by senior officers of all security formations deployed in South Kashmir, including Victor Force, CRPF, BSF, ITBP and Jammu & Kashmir Police.

Senior Superintendents of Police from the concerned districts presented detailed briefings on the ground security scenario, counter-insurgency operations, threat assessments and the comprehensive security arrangements being put in place for the Yatra.

During the review, the DGP conducted an extensive assessment of the operational readiness of various formations and directed officers to maintain heightened vigilance across the Yatra corridor.

He emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas, proactive deployment of resources and strict implementation of security protocols to ensure a safe environment for pilgrims.

Stressing the importance of a unified security response, DGP Nalin Prabhat called for seamless coordination among the Police, Army and Central Armed Police Forces.

He directed all agencies to strengthen intelligence-sharing mechanisms, enhance communication networks and maintain close operational synergy to effectively respond to any emerging challenge.

Officers were instructed to maintain a high state of preparedness and ensure that all security arrangements are implemented with precision and professionalism.

Special attention was given to securing the pilgrimage routes, transit camps, base camps and other critical locations associated with the Yatra.

The DGP reviewed deployment plans and stressed the need for round-the-clock surveillance, quick response capabilities and coordinated field operations to safeguard the movement of devotees.

Officials said the review forms part of a broader effort to establish a robust multi-layered security architecture for SANJY-2026.

Security agencies are working in close coordination to strengthen the protective framework through intelligence-led operations, enhanced surveillance and strategic deployment of personnel across the Yatra axis.

Reaffirming the commitment of Jammu and Kashmir Police towards the successful conduct of the pilgrimage, DGP Nalin Prabhat directed officers to remain alert, proactive and fully prepared to address any eventuality.

He underscored that the safety and security of pilgrims remain paramount and called upon all stakeholders to work with dedication and coordination to ensure an incident-free Yatra.

The high-level review meeting marks another significant milestone in the ongoing preparations for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026, reflecting the administration’s determination to provide a secure, peaceful and well-coordinated environment for thousands of devotees expected to undertake the sacred pilgrimage.
