Eid-ul-Azha inspires values of sacrifice, justice, and service — ideals that must also reflect in governance and public service delivery. As the festival approaches, several urgent issues need government attention to ensure the people celebrate Eid with dignity and relief.

Key Concerns Raised by JKCSF-JKPUF:
1. Public Markets, Safety, and Utilities: Uncontrolled inflation is burdening common people. The government must enforce strict price control, quality monitoring, and anti-hoarding checks across markets.

Food safety needs special focus, especially in rural areas, by inspecting meat shops, poultry sellers, restaurants, bakeries, and food stores.
Authorities must regulate traffic flow in crowded markets to avoid chaos during pre-Eid shopping.

Fair availability and pricing of essential commodities like meat, chicken, and bakery items must be ensured.

2. Employees, Daily wagers,
Contingent-paid, cooks,Aayas, contractual, and daily-wage staff of the School Education Department continue to suffer due to pending salaries and uncertain service conditions.

Aayas and cooks engaged in education department are performing crucial roles but are still awaiting their meagre wages, with many pushed to the brink of distress.

Similarly, Anganwadi workers, and helpers under ICDS are burdened with essential community duties but remain unpaid for months.

Contractors are without payment for years together are facing human , social problem with mental distress need to given priority in their payment before Eid .
The government must prioritize timely payment to these grassroots workers, especially before festivals.

Employees are suffering for GPF, Pensioners are suffering due to delayed release pension amounts, commutation ,leave salary even as banks routinely deduct EMI and loan installments and deducted commutation loan installment without releasing money .

Pending cases of widows, disabled persons, and social welfare beneficiaries should be cleared immediately to avoid further hardship.

Essential Services & Environmental Sensitivity: Ensure uninterrupted supply of power, water, and ration in all areas during the festival.

Local bodies must handle disposal of sacrificial animal remains responsibly. Scattering them in the open not only pollutes the environment but also disrespects the sacred nature of Qurbani.

This is a moment for the administration to act with empathy and accountability. Let this Eid not only be a celebration of faith but also a reminder of the shared duty to uplift the underserved.
