Jammu, June 17: BJP National General Secretary and J&K in-charge Tarun Chugh Tuesday lauded the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s decision to reopen 16 out of the 48 tourist destinations in Jammu & Kashmir that had been closed following the cowardly terror attack in Pahalgam.

He said that the return of tourists to the region reflects the Modi government’s unshakable resolve to restore peace and promote prosperity in the valley.

Chugh asserted that Pakistan’s ISI and its terror proxies had conspired to cripple the tourism economy of J&K, but Operation Sindoor delivered a decisive blow to their agenda. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, a clear and powerful message has been sent to Pakistan – India will not tolerate any attempt to disturb peace in Jammu & Kashmir. The nation will respond with strength, not silence.”

He said that the growing footfall of tourists in the region is a testament to people’s trust in the Modi government’s security apparatus and developmental vision. He added that the Amarnath Yatra this year is expected to witness record participation, serving as a strong statement of India’s unity, faith, and defiance in the face of terror.

“Terrorism will not dictate our calendar or our culture. Pakistan’s plans to spread fear in the valley have failed yet again. Jammu & Kashmir is moving ahead with confidence, and this is the true reply to those who wish to keep the region in turmoil,” Chugh said.
