“We understand that cancer treatment requires a multidisciplinary approach, involving various specialists such as oncology, surgical oncology, interventional radiology, and plastic surgery. Our team is dedicated to providing 24/7 care to our patients,” Dr. Sofi said.

When asked about the need to seek treatment outside Kashmir, Dr. Sofi replied, “We have the infrastructure and expertise to manage most cancer cases within the region, except for robotic surgery, which we plan to introduce in the future. Our goal is to make Kashmir self-sufficient in cancer care.”

Dr. Sofi emphasized the importance of transparency in healthcare, saying, “Deaths are an inevitable part of life, and as doctors, our role is to ensure transparency and empathy. We strive to be open with our patients about their treatment and prognosis.”

He also acknowledged the crucial role of the media in creating awareness and promoting a positive understanding of healthcare. “The media can play a significant role in educating the public about the complexities of healthcare and promoting preventive healthcare, along with the importance of empathy and love in patient care.”

When asked about building credibility and trust with patients, Dr. Sofi said, “Doctors should be available to their patients during times of crisis, and empathy is key to winning hearts. We prioritize building strong relationships with our patients and their families, and we believe that love and care are more important than finances.”

The Onco Science Department at Ujala Cygnus Kashmir Super Specialty Hospital is equipped with a team of specialists and state-of-the-art facilities. The hospital plans to introduce robotic onco setup, PET scan, and radiotherapy services in the future to further enhance its cancer care services.

We are proud to have treated over 2 lakh 10 thousand+ patients in OPD and performed 27,000+ surgeries in IPD, and we look forward to continuing to serve the community with dedication and care.”
