Kathua, Mar 27: An officer among 4 jawans were injured during ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists in the Juthana area of Kathua on Thursday.

Reliable sources told news agency JKNS that security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific inputs about the presence of terrorists.

As the forces zeroed in on the suspected location, they came under heavy fire, leading to a fierce gunfight.

During the exchange, SDPO Border DySP Dheeraj Katoch among 3 jawans sustained injuries. They have been shifted to a medical facility for treatment, they said.

Intermittent firing is still ongoing, and additional reinforcements have been rushed to the spot.
