Taj said that he will be returning to his home (Congress) soon. “I have planned to rejoin Congress,” he said.

However, he didn’t divulge the exact date of his rejoining.

Pertinently, Taj had quit Congress in August 2022 to join Ghulam Nabi Azad’s Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP). He later announced his resignation from DPAP in August last year and contested 2024 Assembly polls as independent candidate from Uri constituency.
