Anantnag, Dec 16: At least two persons were injured after the vehicle they were traveling in skidded off the road and fell into the Lidder River last night, officials said.

An official told JKNS that two people sustained injuries after an Innova vehicle bearing registration no. JK01AV-3800 skidded off the road and fell into the Lidder River in Pahalgam during the intervening night.

He said the injured have been identified as Suhail Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohd Rafiq Bhat from Shadipora, Bandipora, and Nadeem Ahmed Khan, son of Tariq Ahmad Khan from Nehalpora, Pattan.

He added that both victims were initially rushed to PHC Pahalgam for treatment. After receiving initial medical attention, they were referred to GMC Anantnag for further care.

Meanwhile, cognizance of this matter has been taken up.
