Amandeep BR Medicity is the first to introduce the Ceramic Robotic Knee Resurfacing procedure in the valley. Dr. Avtar Singh, the renowned AI-Robotic surgeon, and his team operated on 22 Total Knee Replacement (TKR) and Total Hip Replacement (THR) patients in the last two days.

It is a new and advanced procedure designed to treat damaged knee joints. Instead of replacing the entire joint, only the affected part is resurfaced using a ceramic layer. The process uses robotic assistance for precision, ensuring accurate alignment and placement.

The ceramic material is durable and designed to last longer than traditional options. Since the healthy parts of the knee are preserved, patients experience more natural movement. This less invasive technique reduces recovery time, allowing patients to return to their active lives sooner. Ceramic materials cause very low friction, increasing the lifespan of the joint. It’s the only joint replacement with no metal, so there’s no risk of allergies.

This procedure can be performed with or without robotic assistance, depending on surgeons’ expertise. While robotic assistance adds an extra layer of precision, we still offer traditional and AI-assisted joint replacement surgeries for those who require different approaches. Our goal is to provide you with care tailored to your needs.

As per a statement, Dr. Avtar Singh, a pioneer in robotic joint replacement with over 30 years of experience, led the team in performing the ceramic and robotic surgeries, which significantly reduce blood loss and accelerate patient recovery. The use of robotic technology greatly enhanced the precision of the procedure, ensuring improved outcomes and extending the number of active, pain-free years for patients.

Baldev Singh Raina, MD & CEO of Peaks Auto Pvt. Ltd., added, “This initiative represents BR Medicity’s dedication to providing the best and most advanced healthcare treatments to the region. Dr. Singh’s unmatched expertise, combined with the advanced technology at BR Medicity, ensures that patients in Srinagar and beyond receive world-class orthopedic care.”
