Srinagar, Nov 02: Iqbal Mission School celebrated its 40th Foundation Day at its Saraf Kadal campus, marking four decades of dedication to quality education, community building, and excellence.

The theme for this year, “Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future – 40 Years of Educational Excellence,” reflects the legacy of Dr. Sir Muhammad Iqbal (RA), a distinguished philosopher, poet, and scholar whose vision has shaped the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds with values, ethics, and knowledge.

The event featured esteemed guests who have contributed profoundly to education sector in J&K, including Chief Guest Dr. G.N. Var, President of the Private Schools Association, J&K (PSAJK), Guest of Honor Prof. G.N. Khaki, Director of the International Centre for Spiritual Studies, IUST, ZEO Zaldagar, Razia Akhtar, Dean of Students, IUST, Dr. Asifa Mehraj Baba, Chairman of Iqbal Mission School, Nazir Ahmad Naqash And Parents.

Each guest was warmly felicitated, receiving tokens of appreciation for their invaluable contributions to the field of education.

Students performed skits, dramas, and delivered speeches, celebrating the school’s legacy while inspiring future aspirations. Sixteen top pass-out students from previous batches were specially honored for their outstanding academic achievements, symbolizing the enduring impact of the school on its community. These students were awarded certificates and mementos, highlighting their excellence and dedication to learning.

PSAJK President Dr. G.N. Var, has said that “we place the utmost priority on providing quality education because it addresses the critical issues facing our future generations. Our children deserve to live with honor and dignity, and this begins with a strong educational foundation. By prioritizing students’ education today, we empower them to navigate tomorrow’s challenges and contribute positively to society. I urge all parents to actively support their children’s education, as your involvement is crucial in helping them realize their full potential.”

Var has further said that “Iqbal Mission School has set a benchmark in private education in J&K, consistently blending academic excellence with ethical values. This milestone is a testament to the school’s dedication to nurturing young minds for positive societal impact.”

Prof. G.N. Khaki, Director, International Centre for Spiritual Studies, IUST: “Education encompasses both academics and character building. Nazir Ahmad Naqash, Chairman of Iqbal Mission School: “Our 40th Foundation Day is a tribute to everyone involved in this journey. We are committed to nurturing responsible, compassionate citizens of tomorrow.”

Dr. Saadiya Naqash Lecturer, Higher Education Department & Alumnus of Iqbal Mission School said that “The integration of knowledge and the quest for comprehensive excellence form the core of our educational philosophy at Iqbal Mission School. We strive not just to impart academic learning but to nurture well-rounded individuals who are equipped to navigate the complexities of life.”

Razia Akhtar, ZEO Zaldagar: “This celebration highlights the role of quality education in shaping resilient communities. I commend the school for empowering students to face modern challenges.”

Dr. Asifa Mehraj Baba, Dean of Students, IUST: “Iqbal Mission School’s commitment to student-centered education sets an impressive example for all institutions. This celebration reaffirms the importance of providing quality education that empowers students to reach their full potential.”

Er. Ghazi Nazir Naqash, Assistant Professor, IUST, Awantipora & Alumnus of Iqbal Mission School said that “Iqbal Mission School has been instrumental in shaping the minds and characters of its students. The school’s commitment to fostering curiosity and ethical values ensures that we are not only prepared for our careers but also for our roles as compassionate leaders in society.”

The event was concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the school’s Principal Maqsooda, who expressed gratitude to the guests, students, parents, teachers, and staff. She acknowledged their unwavering support and looked forward to continued growth and success in the future.
