Srinagar, Oct 22: The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned financial assistance of Rs. 1.7 crore from the J&K Relief Fund for the fire-affected victims of Mulwarwan in the Kishtwar district.

The fire, which occurred on October 14, 2024, caused significant damage to the village.

According to an official order, the Chief Minister has approved the release of Rs. 1.7 crore to assist 85 fire-affected families, with each family set to receive Rs. 2 lakh.

The amount has been transferred via NEFT into the official account of the Deputy Commissioner Office, Kishtwar, and will be disbursed to the victims shortly.

This financial support, as per the order, aims to provide immediate relief to the affected families and help them recover from the losses incurred during the fire.

The government has urged the local authorities to ensure the swift and fair distribution of the assistance.
