Talking to reporters on the side-lines of a function at his father Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah’s 42nd death anniversary at Hazratbal, Dr Farooq said NC-Congress will fight for the “full restoration of Statehood.” “Time will come one day, when J&K will get back full Statehood,” Dr Farooq said.

He was flanked by his son Omar Abdullah and other party leaders. They paid tributes to late Sheikh Abdullah at his mausoleum.

Dr Farooq said that NC is not the party who kill people for having cows. Replying to a query that Home Minister Shah fired salvos at NC-Congress stating that these parties can’t bring back Statehood, the NC chief replied: “Time will prove…”

He said the BJP had claimed that post Article 370, terrorism will be wiped out, has terrorism ended in J&K. “Rather it has become a challenge. They are responsible for it,” he said. On BJP is focussing on Jammu more than Kashmir, Dr Farooq said BJP is trying to create fear among the voters in Jammu. “First they sold Lord Ram for votes and now they are instilling fear among Jammu voters. But Jammu people are wise enough to understand whom to vote this time,” he said.
