Former KCCI Chairman Sheikh Ashiq joins AIP

Srinagar, Aug 31: In a significant political development, former Chairman of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI), Sheikh Ashiq, joined the Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) led by incarcerated MP Engineer Rashid.

Sheikh Ashiq formally joined the party during a ceremony attended by prominent leaders and businessmen, including former General Secretary of the Kashmir High Court Bar Association, GN Shaheen, and former employee leader, Ishtiyak Qadri.

Addressing the gathering, Sheikh Ashiq emphasized the need for AIP to restore the credibility of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He highlighted the current political crisis and stressed that it is the right time to serve the people.

Sheikh Ashiq as per Kashmir News Trust praised Engineer Rashid’s role, saying he deserves support for his immense sacrifices for the people of Kashmir. His joining is seen as a significant boost to the AIP, bringing together business and political leaders to work towards a common goal.
