MeT predicts rains today, rise in temp from Aug 23

Srinagar, Aug 21: Amid the possibility of rains today, the weatherman here has predicted rise in day temperature from August 23 onwards.

As per the detailed forecast, the Meteorological department has said that generally cloudy weather with possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershower are expected at many places today.

It reads that from August 22-2, nothing significant is expected for Kashmir division with brief spell of rain and thundershower at few places.

“Spell of light to moderate rain and thundershower at scattered places of Jammu division towards late night and early morning,” the MeT said.

From 26-27th August, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and thundershower at scattered to fairly widespread places of J&K.

From 28-31st August, a brief spell of rain and thundershower is expected at isolated places.

Meanwhile, in its advisory, the MeT has forecasted the possibility of intense showers for brief period at few places may lead to flash floods, landslides, mudslides and shooting stones over vulnerable places.

Rise in day temperature is expected from 23rd August onwards, the MeT said.
