ACB conducts special awareness programmes across J&K

Srinagar, Aug 06: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Tuesday said to have conducted special awareness programmes across UT of Jammu and Kashmir in connection with Vigilance Awareness Week.

Vigilance Awareness week 2024 is being celebrated across UT of Jammu and Kashmir. During this week Anti-Corruption Bureau J&K has been organizing various awareness programmes for vigilance awareness across UT of J&K, a statement reads.

ACB Srinagar organized such programmes at Sub Divisional Magistrate office Chadoora, Degree College Chadoora, Directorate of Urban Local Bodies, Bemina Srinagar and Govt. Degree College Bemina.

The speakers from ACB spoke on various issues related to corruption, its evil impact on society and how it can be checked and eradicated from the society.

Speakers gave a detailed presentation on overview of corruption and its evil impact on society. They also informed the audience about functioning of ACB and elaborated on the ways and means for the general public to approach ACB for institution or registration of complaints. They stressed upon the role of general public in combating corruption.

ACB Jammu organized a seminar at Government Degree College Akhnoor. The seminar was attended by about 300 students and teaching faculty. Detail deliberations were held on all aspects of vigilance awareness during which teams of officers from ACB and participants exchanged their view point.

At the end, all the participants were encouraged and advised to come forward and join in the fight against corruption

ACB Udhampur organized a seminar at Govt. Hr. Sec School, Tikri Udhampur. The seminar was attended by hundreds of students including NCC Cadets and staff. A detailed lecture with regard to eradicating corruption and increasing public accountability, role of youth in curbing the menace of corruption and service delivery in the society was delivered by the officers of ACB.

ACB Rajouri conducted seminar at Government Degree College Sunderbani. The seminar was attended by students and teaching faculty of college. During this programme, the participants were made aware about various provisions, rules regulations and Govt orders in place for curbing this menace of corruption.

ACB Baramulla organized a Seminar at District Police Line Kupwara. The program was attended by Police Personnel of District Kupwara. A Program was also organized at Government Degree College Handwara. A seminar was also organized at Town Hall Sopore for Govt officials of rural development Department. Members from civil society also attended this program. The legal measures taken against the public servants involved in corrupt practices were discussed during the program.

ACB Anantnag organized programs for official of District Kulgam and District Shopian at District Police Lines Kulgam and Shopian. During the events, insightful awareness regarding the causes, impact and legal intervention on the govt officers involved with the corrupt practices were held.

In the coming days, ACB will conduct more awareness programmes across the UT in order to sensitize all the stakeholders especially general public as well as Govt officials about the prevalence of corruption and ways and means to eradicate it.
