Weather models, according to KNT, have significantly reduced the likelihood of rain in the region, indicating a prolonged period of hot, dry conditions.

In over 70 years, Srinagar records highest July temperature at 37.4 degrees

Temperatures are forecast to climb to potentially record-breaking levels, with the possibility of some all-time highs being shattered.

While the forecast predicts predominantly dry weather, isolated thunderstorms cannot be entirely ruled out.

People are advised to take precautions to protect against heat-related illnesses and avoid unnecessarily getting out in the sun, especially between 12:00 noon and 03:00 pm.
