Aryans celebrates International Nurses Day

Chandigarh, May 12: Aryans Institute of Nursing (AIN), Rajpura, Near Chandigarh celebrated International Nurses Day under the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future. The economic power of care”.

Dr. Varinder Garg, OSD to President (PGIMER), Union Health Minister, India; Principal Investigator, Indian Council of Medical Research, CIBioD, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, Chandigarh was the Chief Guest while the Guests of Honour were Dr. Puneet Girdhar, Joint Director, Medical Education, Punjab; S. Gurdyal Singh Buttar, President, Nursing Training Institute Association (NTIA), Punjab & Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Joint Secretary, Punjab Uniaided Colleges Association (PUCA). Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group presided over.

PGI expert, Dr. Varinder Garg said that while doctors are hailed for their medical genius, the contribution of nurses may often be relegated to the shadows of the hospital corridors. However, times is changing, and one of the biggest examples in the recent past has been that of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Dr. Puneet Girdhar mentioned that International Nurses Day is a time to recognize and appreciate the exceptional contributions of nurses to healthcare. Their selfless dedication, tireless efforts, and compassionate care make them the true heroes of healthcare.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group said that as we celebrate this special day, let us express our heartfelt gratitude to all nurses around the world for their invaluable contributions to society. Let us honor their unwavering commitment to patient care and acknowledge their role as champions of health and well-being.”

Nidhi Chopra, Principal, Aryans Institute of Nursing gave information that the students also took the oath to uphold the values of their Nursing profession. Students while taking oath pledged to serve the society with their profession during their studies as well as after the completion of their course.

It is to be mentioned that International Nurses day is celebrated every year on 12th May to mark the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing.
