Srinagar, Mar 28: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla on Thursday said to have attached illegally acquired property of a notorious drug peddler.

“Police has attached property of a notorious drug peddler Mudasir Ahmad Shah son of Mohd Maqbool Shah resident of Chanderseeran, Baramulla who is presently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bilwal Jammu under PIT-NDPS Act. The attached property includes land measuring 6 marlas under survey No. 875 & plinth of under construction poultry farm worth lacs,” a police spokesman said.

Police said that the action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of NDPS Act of 1985 & is linked with case FIR No. 113/2023 under section 8/15 NDPS Act of Police Station Kreeri. “The property was identified as illegally acquired property during the course of investigation/enquiry conducted by Police. The property was prima facie acquired from illicit trafficking in Narcotic drug and Psychotropic substances by the drug peddler,” the statement said.

This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Police, the statement added.
