Weatherman predicts light rains, snow from Mar 11

Srinagar, Mar 08: The weatherman on Friday predicted light rains and snow in Kashmir from March 11, saying there is no forecast of any significant weather activity.

As per the INS, Director Meteorological department, Mukhtar Ahmad said no significant weather activity is expected till March 10.

However, he said that from March 11 to 12, there is a forecast of light rain and snow at few places.

From March 13 to 14, the light rains and snow is expected at fairly widespread places following which the weather would remain generally dry from March 15 to 18.

Moreover, the weatherman said that in view of heavy to very heavy snowfall over few middle & Higher reaches, the travellers and tourists are advised to plan accordingly & follow admin & Traffic police advisory.

“General public over hilly areas are advised not to venture in Avalanche prone areas & slopy areas. Follow avalanche warnings & advisories,” he said and advised farmers to resume farm operations.
