MVD Jammu holds medical camp for drivers at Bus stand

Jammu, Jan 27: As a part on ongoing National Road Safety Month, the Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Jammu Saturday organized a free health cum eye check up camp at New Bus stand Jammu.

The camp was organized under the supervision of R.T.O Jammu Pankaj Bagotra K.A.S & on the directions of Transport Commissioner J&K Rajinder Singh Tara in collaboration with various Transport Unions.

As many as 200 drivers and conductors participated in the camp and availed themselves the facility like eye checkup for colour- blindness, defect in eye sight, test to check B.P, Sugar, Hb.

Earlier a team from Red Cross Society also imparted First Responder Training to drivers which can help them to handle any urgency.

Speaking on the occasion, Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Jammu, Pankaj Bagotra informed the participants that the aim of organizing such medical camps is to spread awareness among drivers about significance of personal health and hygiene for welfare of society.

He added that such camps will be organized on regular basis in future for the drivers as they hold the responsibility of ensuring the safety of passenger so they should often keep their health in check and well monitored.

Among other speakers Chairman AJKTU Ajit Singh on behalf of Transport union welcomed the participants and stressed on drivers to follow traffic regulations strictly for the safety of passengers.

S.S.P Traffic Faisal Qureshi, C.M.O Jammu Harbaksh Singh, Dy SP Traffic Farha, ARTO HQ Rehana Tabassam, Team of Doctors from C.M.O Office and Representatives from various Transport Unions participated the event.
